Manufacturers Service Advisory Council (MSAC)

RSES Journal’s former publication title RSC launched the first Manufacturers Service Managers Council (MSMC) Hotline column in October 1976—known today as the Manufacturers’ Service Advisory Council (MSAC) Hotline. RSES formed this Council “to provide an organization through which service managers, training manufacturers or other manufacturer personnel who are actively involved with field service, may assist RSES in its educational efforts relating to installation, service, repair and maintenance of refrigeration and air-conditioning equipment, auxiliaries and accessories.”

The Council is comprised of more than 25 long-time HVACR industry experts—including, but not limited to, national service managers, training directors, application engineers, consulting engineers and technical specialists—who represent manufacturing firms in the HVACR and allied industries.

Questions submitted by readers via an MSAC Hotline Question Card are sorted by topic and distributed to the MSAC Member(s) according to his/her expertise. Once an answer is returned, both the question and answer are then scheduled for future publication in the MSAC Hotline column of RSES Journal.

This exclusive exchange of questions and answers puts the contractor/service engineer directly in contact with experts in their field—representatives of HVACR equipment manufacturers who represent their companies on the Council.

RSES Members and RSES Journal Subscribers have exclusive access to the MSAC Hotline Archives available online.
