Troubleshooting Column
The monthly Troubleshooting column in RSES Journal—authored by leading HVACR experts—is one of the most popular, well-read sections of the magazine. Each month, our experts pose a unique problem to readers, offering them background on the system and situation, along with illustrations and other pertinent data necessary for an HVACR professional to figure out the root cause of the service call.

Many of the questions that our experts offer are based on real-life situations from our readers. In fact, HVACR professionals can submit their questions—along with as much additional information, schematics, equipment information, and the solution that the reader came up with. If the question is published, the submitter will receive a free digital multimeter.

This unique column is an outstanding way for engineers, contractors, technicians, educators and students to test their analytical and troubleshooting skills, as well as provide a forum for new problems that they have come across and solved. Readers regularly write in and share that they turn to this section of the magazine first each month.

RSES Members and RSES Journal Subscribers have exclusive access to archived Troubleshooting columns available online.
