RSES-owned eLearning Platform Launched

Schaumburg, Ill. (Sept. 19, 2023) – RSES is pleased to announce the launch of its own Canvas-based eLearning platform, launched in an effort to better manage both Member and Non-member RSES certifications and credits. This launch is part one of a two-part effort to display certifications and credits users have acquired for either RSES or third-party certifications in one location. Eventually, platform users will have the ability to self-manage submissions of continuing education credits required for a variety of credentials and licenses. RSES eBooks are hosted here, as well, giving Members and customers one place to store their RSES purchases going forward.

In addition to all of RSES training materials currently available as eBooks, the eLearning courses now available on the platform include:
  • Hydrocarbon Refrigerants Training/Certificate This is a narrated online presentation that follows the RSES Hydrocarbon Refrigerants study guide for service technicians. A certificate test assesses a learners understanding of the materials and a certificate of completion for 8 CEHs/0.8 CEUs is available after the successful completion of the quiz.
  • Safety for the HVACR Technician This online course covering safety facts, guidelines, and recommendations for the HVACR service technician under the eight modules, from PPE to Electrical Safety and Soldering, Brazing and Welding to Ladders, Scaffolds and Lifts. module, which may be purchased individually or together as one bundled course, includes an end-of-module certificate upon the successful completion of an exam. The course is approved for 16 NATE CEHs or 1.6 CEUs. All modules together provide approximately 12–20 hours of safety training.
  • Electricity for the HVACR Technician This course provides an introduction to the concepts of electricity and magnetism, description of basic electrical devices that use these concepts, the concepts of alternating current and related devices, and the basic explanation of electrical schematics. The course is broken out into 12 modules that may be purchased individually or together in a full course. The course is approved for 36 NATE CEHs or 3.6 CEUs. All modules together provide approximately 30–40 hours of electrical training.
  • Air Conditioning FundamentalsThis is an interactive online course that offers a thorough introduction to the concepts, laws, and processes related to air conditioning systems. The course is broken out into 10 modules, including basic system operation to gas laws PT relationships and the compression cycle, which may be purchased individually or together as one course, includes an end-of-module certificate upon the successful completion of an exam. The course is approved for 20 NATE CEHs or 2.0 CEUs. All modules together provide approximately 16–24 hours of air conditioning training.
  • NATE Online Prep These online training courses consists of videos that parallel the chapters in the Preparing for the NATE Exam: Core Essentials, Air Conditioning and Heat Pumps and Gas (Air) Heating and includes end-of-chapter quizzes and a practice exam covering all the chapters to complete before taking your exam with NATE. A certificate of completion for 4 CEHs/0.4 CEUs is available after the successful completion of the course and final exam.
