Earn 40 CEHs while learning to earn a BPI Building Science Principles Certificate

 

This course is designed to provide a fundamental knowledge base in building science. Attendees will learn the relationships between the building envelope, heating, A/C, insulation, mechanical ventilation, lighting, appliances, and other home systems. Learn how these systems play a vital role in the occupant's safety, comfort, health, and durability of the building. This course will also allow those in attendance to gain hands-on experience with several tools, including a blower door, duct blaster, thermal imager, etc. The latest edition of the Building Science Principal Reference Guide published by BPI and an exam code for the Building Science Certificate of Knowledge examination will be provided to each trainee.

This course is a prerequisite to the Building Analysis Technician (BAT) technician certification exam, which is a prerequisite to the Building Analysis Professional (BAP) Exam.

About Your Instructor: Brynn Cooksey, CEM, CMS, RCT, has been in the HVACR industry for over 20 years. He is currently the Owner and General Manager of Air Doctors Heating and Cooling. Brynn specializes in industrial HVACR maintenance, service, equipment performance testing, and building science.

In addition, Brynn is also an Associate Professor with Washtenaw Community College in Ann Arbor, MI. Brynn is a training consultant for mechanical contractors, HVACR supply distributors, Weatherization Agencies, and HVACR training organizations. Brynn also holds five RSES Certificate Member Specialist certifications; HVAC/R Electrical, Commercial Air Conditioning, Dynamic Compression, Domestic Specialist, and Heating.

Brynn has also obtained all North American Technical Excellence (NATE) Service and Installation certifications. And holds several degrees and certifications in the HVACR and Building Science industries.
