Heating by Dummies features true stories of jobs the author has been on over 25 years working for manufacturers in both the United States and Canada. Each job details the issue, what he found when arriving to the site and how he corrected the problems.

Additional titles by Bruno and Ries that are featured on the RSES Online Store include:

The Complete Guide to Residential Oil Heating, 2nd Edition, by James Ries, breaks down the home heating industry for training maintenance technicians. The book is ideal for all categories of professionals, from classroom trainer to seasoned heating professionals to students. More than 80 pages of detailed line drawings support the text that describes oil-heating functions, perfect for classroom training or independent learning.

The Complete Guide to Residential Oil Burners, 4th Edition, by James Ries is a detailed training guide used in the home heating industry for training maintenance technicians. It contains more than 116 pages of text and high-quality detailed line drawings designed to support classroom training. The information is based on five of the most popular modern oil burner technologies, including Beckett AFII and AFG; Riello R35 and F40; and the Carlin EZ-Pro technologies. In addition to dedicated sections for each of the oil burner technologies, each chapter uses detailed illustrations to walk readers through how the oil burner works, including the fuel-delivery system, and how to service, tune, and troubleshoot the unit. The book also covers oil pumps that are often packaged with these oil burners. Illustrations detail how the pump works, how to service the pump, properly set up the pressure and how to troubleshoot the pump. An appendix addresses tuning the oil burner to the boiler or furnace to achieve maximum efficiency.

The Complete Guide to Residential Gas Heating, 2nd Edition, by Richard Bruno (Author), James Ries (Illustrator) features a new section on gas conversion burners. This training manual combines codes, piping, wiring and venting inside one cover. Author Richard Bruno calls on his experience gained in the heating industry over the last 25 years. In addition to his work as an installer and service technician for plumbing and heating companies in the New York City area, his knowledge gained while traveling throughout the United States as a sales and technical representative for major boiler manufacturers lends to the know-how in the text.
